bali cinnamon & clove natural soap
Grounding & earthy, cinnamon-spicy.
From the markets of the old spice trade we purchase full lengths of cinnamon tree bark. We grind the meter-long sticks to a fine powder. We mix this pleasantly pungent spice with coconut oil, heat slightly, then strain to create a smooth, non-abrasive oil. We add this rich, reddish brown oil to the soap mixture at the end of the process as a "superfatting" agent. In actuality, superfatting leaves some of the oils un-SOAP-afied resulting in a creamy moisturizing bar while still maintaining the amazing cleansing properties of a soap made with coconut oil.
Cinnamon is medicinal with its antiseptic, antidepressant and stimulating properties. Its astringent property is effective in "perking" up dull, ashy skin.
We also add Himalayan Cedarwood & Cinnamon essential oils to accentuate the warm, woody, spicy-sweet aroma of the ground cinnamon bark. Then as the frosting on the cake we add pure Clove Bud essential oil. Clove bud is very antiseptic and pain-relieving. The final product is delightfully-warming, spicy, stimulating and grounding. A delicious, hearty-treat everybody loves!
