100% pure essential oil Botanical name - pogostemon cablin - Indonesia Description of plant - An herbaceous perennial which grows up to 3 feet (90cm), with white flowers tinged with purple. The soft, fuzzy, egg-shaped leaves give out the peculiar fragrance when rubbed, but most of the rich scent develops after the leaves have been dried and aged. This oil also becomes better with age. Nature of the oil - A dark amber viscous liquid. It's aroma is woody, earthy, musty-sweet and strong. Patchouli's odour effect is warming and stimulating; an aphrodisiac. Aromatherapeutic uses - Skin & hair care, acne, athlete's foot, bed sores, cracked and sore skin, dandruff, dermatitis, weeping eczema, insect-repellent, wounds, depression, & other stress-related disorders. Blends well with - Bergamot, Geranium, Grapefruit, Lavender, Lemon Myrtle, Lime, Petitgrain, Rosemary, Sage, Tea tree and most citrus and herb essences. Medica Natura - Botanical Insect-Repellent. Patchouli ----- 40 drops - Rosemary ----- 25 drops - Eucalyptus ----- 7 drops Fill a 120ml spray bottle with distilled or pure bottled water, Add essential oils and shake well. Spray mist onto all parts of body avoiding eyes, mouth & nose. Shake well before each use as to disperse essential oils. Relieve yourself of insects naturally without the use of hazardous chemicals. Safe for the whole family. ADDITIONAL INTERESTING RANTS & RAVES: Very strangely alluring this oil seems to tap into the animal instinct in all of us. I haven’t quite pinpointed what it is exactly but I find everytime I smell it I want to rub it all over my body like a leopard would roll in a potential mates fresh scent. Patchouli oil works as an “anchor” to other quicker evaporating oils like those of the citrus family. This is one of the natural methods of “fixing” your blends.
